Scatophagus argus

Scatophagus argus, commonly known as the Spotted Scat, is a hardy and visually striking brackish water fish perfect for experienced aquarists. Characterized by its distinctive round body shape and bold red and black spotted pattern, this fish adds dynamic movement and color to any setup.

These fish thrive in slightly brackish conditions and prefer well-planted tanks with plenty of swimming space. They are opportunistic feeders with omnivorous tendencies and do well in community tanks with similarly sized, compatible species. Scatophagus argus can reach moderate sizes and require adequate filtration and regular water changes.
